a sanctuary for self-doubt

conceived during artist’s winter residency at the arteles creative center, stories of statotolia transforms uncertainty into ritual form. born from a period of deep introspection, the installation served as a quiet field where tenderness and hesitation could coexist.
through acts of sculpting, arranging, and listening, seiu created an intimate space in which participants could sit, play, and speak to their own inner child. the installation’s choreography of clay and breath offered a gentle architecture for self-dialogue—where doubt could unfold into curiosity, and vulnerability could take on structure.
conceived as a living sanctuary, stories of statotolia became a study in emotional repair: how small gestures of making and witnessing can re-pattern the nervous system toward trust. each encounter left behind a trace of softness, a reminder that self-doubt, when tended, can become its own kind of devotion.
